Training workshop for government officials on drafting the report on Convention Against Torture (Jerba, 25-26 March 2021)

Tunis - 24 to 30 June 2019,  Thirteen Libyan civil society organizations from different regions of the country and represented by 20 participants received a training course on ‘’Child rights, shadow reports, and the monitoring and reporting mechanism’’. The first part of the training focused in-depth on the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the international mechanisms of child protection as well as the contents of civil society’s shadow reports and periodic reports of member states. This program is co-funded by the European Union.

The first part of the training focused in-depth on the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the international mechanisms of child protection as well as the contents of civil society’s shadow reports and periodic reports of member states.

The second part of the training focused on the monitoring and reporting mechanism on grave violations of children's rights in situations of armed conflict.

Throughout the course of the training which took place entirely in Arabic, the participants were able to exchange with high-level guests such as Dr Fathi Jarray: a former education minister and actual chairman of the national committee of prevention against torture in Tunisia and Mrs Leila Zarrougui, SRSG, and current head of MONUSCO.
